My passion comes from watching my amazing father, Brian Barkwell, deal with a 10 year battle with early on-set Alzheimer's. Sadly, his long journey ended in May of 2015. I am now devoting my life to advocating and actively raising funds to find a cure for Alzheimer's. I hope to inspire others with my community involvement, the outcome of advocacy for a greater cause, and the influence of volunteering. Through my adversity, there comes a deep commitment to leaving a legacy for my Dad.
Starting in 2013, we've had a team at the annual Phoenix Walk to End Alzheimer's. In these years, we have raised in excess of $22,000 for the Alzheimer's Association. We are fortunate to be supported by a strong and loyal donor base! Barky's Hope is blessed to have both amazing team members and generous donors.
This year we are on our journey to finding a cure in beautiful San Diego, California.
Join us on Sunday, September 23th at Mission Bay for the 2018 San Diego Walk to End Alzheimer's!
If you can't make it in person, please consider donating!
